209, 210, 210 1/2 & 210 3/4 Livi Quilts Her Own Christmas Eve Snuggler!

Granny got a little, actually, a lot, behind my self imposed deadlines; what with Papa and his Quintuple Bypass, two new Grandies, and all sorts of Girl Scout buzzy buzzy buzzy bee stuff!!!

Soooooooo, Olivia decided to have a sleep over and quilt all the Christmas Eve quilts herself!  We got hers done (the big one), Ethans (the medium one) and two eensey beensey ones for Nora & Noah.

Now here we are at 9:59pm!!!!  And Livi has finished but still wants to do more stuff like:  baking, present wrapping, dancing, karaoke, tease Po, etc. etc.  But Granny just wants to go to sleep! Zzzz.

208 Another Tracey B&W - She is "Getting It Done!"

Tracey is leaving me in the quilting dust these days.  Well, my excuse is the best of its kind:  one new grandbaby and one grandbaby due in a few more weeks.  I'm in the binding stage, and the shower prep stage and the holding-the-baby stage.  And don't forget September is the start up of my Girl Scout Troop... lots of prep!  Lots of fun.  Just no time for good old Millie.  Good thing Tracey is keeping her busy!

205 & 206 Tracey Flower Quilt and Hedgehog Quilt

Tracey got two quilted quilted today.  One was a pretty Flower Garden quilt with scrappy stems and leaves for a girlfriend who's mom has had health challenges.  Tracey wanted to bring her "flowers that last!"
The other quilt is a large patch Hedgehog baby quilt.  She did some channel-lock stitching to enhance the cute critter.

204 Grandson Noah's "Mountain Adventures" Quilt

Grandson Noah is here!  Oh what joy!  Oh what bliss!  Thank you Lord, for your abundance.

Emily and Andrew painted grey-blue mountains on the nursery wall.  The theme of the the nursery is Adventure.  It is so cute.  I just love it.  I hope they like this quilt, the pattern is supposed to suggest mountains.

203 Grandson Noah's Retro Happy Childhood Quilt

I feel such a good feeling in my heart when I picture our little grandson Noah growing up alongside additional siblings and many happy cousins.  This nostalgic print is so sweet and predicts a wonderful childhood of adventures and play with family and friends!  I am thrilled to my core for our beloved Andrew & Emily!

Noah & Nora playing and picnicking together!  (I think I spy a peekaboo of Grant and Charlotte, too!)

Yes, indeed!  There is little Charlotte playing with Nora!  Such fun!

202 Ashley's Happy Scrappy - turquoise, orange, mustard yellow & navy blue

Our beloved Ashley, one of Sarah's BFF's, has served her as doula for all of her births.  We adore her.  She is one of the most nurturing, kind, thoughtful people on the earth.  As I watched her joyously, graciously assist my sweet Sarah in the labor and delivery of her third child... my heart shouted, "must must must make Ashley a quilt!"

It turned out to be one of my favorite Happy Scrappies due to Ashley's unique, joyous blend of favorite colors:

mustard yellow
and navy blue

As beautiful as Ashley!

I want to remember this particular quilting design.  I "stair stepped stich-in-the-ditch" then did the interior work stairstep on the way back up to the top.  Next time I'll add some additional flor de lis on the interior work as I get used to this.

201 Marleine's Sampler Block Quilt

Years and years ago Marleine took a quilting class and made all these sampler blocks.  Then the blocks sat in a drawer, in Houston, until I chanced upon them when I visited in 2014/15.  Now that she and Dickie are coming up... I'm racing to finish before they arrive!  Bet MarMar has nearly forgotten about it.  Won't she be delighted to see her finished quilt?  I added the 16 cornerstones and all the sashing.  That should really surprise her.

I just LOVE samplers!

196 Candy Day 2 - Lexi High School Graduation

Today Candy's goal is to get Lexi's Graduation Quilt done.  It is a fabulous quilt that has all Lexi's sports T's put together in a delightful, colorful pattern!  Lexi competed in State all four years of her high school athletic career!  Karlie came to help us prepare the backing and load it onto the machine.  It sure makes all the pinning go fast with 3 pairs of hands!

As the saying goes,
"many hands make light work"
and Karlie sure helped us get the quilting done fast and efficiently!

Lexi, you have had an amazing and inspiration sports career!
