Snuggly for Olivia

"Granny?" asked Olivia, "can I have a snuggly like those baby snugglies that you made for the baby showers?".
"You want a snuggly, hunny?" I responded.
"Yes, Granny, a great big one to keep me warm!" Olivia replied..
"Ok, sweetheart, let's go to JoAnn's.  They are having a sale on polar fleece" said Granny.
"Oh, Granny, you always have to have a coupon, don't you?" asked Olivia.
"Yup!  That's why Granny is so wise.  Granny uses her pennies wisely so she has extra pennies to buy her Grandies all the snugglies they could ever want!" proudly stated the wise, old Granny.

130 Ruthie's Quilt - 50 years of friendship

Ruthie has been my friend since 2nd grade.  She and I got to know each other when the teacher sat me next to her during Art Time.  I copied her wonderful picture of an apple tree.  Ruthie didn't like me copying her.

But now, after 50 years, she's gotten over it and laughs whenever she hears me talking about how I "recently" drew her apple tree again.  Last Sunday, in fact, when I was trying to inspire the 2nd Graders at Table Time in Sunday School.

Maybe her colorful apple tree is why I love bright, bold colors in my Happy Scrappy quilts?

OK Ruthie, here's your very own Happy Scrappy Quilt made with love from one of your BFF's.  XO

129 A Quilt for Baby Eli - Judi's Grandson

Judi & I found this sweet froggy fabric and knew Rachel would love it for Eli because she calls him her little foggy.  Rachel's got Monkey Caden and Foggy Eli - and each will have their own theme quilt to enjoy.  Isn't this such fun!

128 Judi's Grandson Isaacs' Quilt

Update!  oh how I just love these updates!  Issac... you are scrumptious!
----- ----- ----- ----- -----

And here is a cute Pinwheel Quilt for precious Judi's Grandson Isaac who will be here in September.  The Baby Shower is in a few weeks and we've sewn mama-to-be Rachel a laundry basket full of things:  nursing apron, hooded baby towel, lots of flannel-covered burp diapers, the quilt, a polar fleece blankey for stroller or car seat.  Plus the Dreft and the baby boy hangars and the closet "sizes" dividers.  And we're headed to the store to complete the "Laundry Shower Basket" by getting washcloths, bath toys, "I Love Grandma" bibs and more!  I love bringing this basket to baby showers, it is always fun.
