Yeahhhhh, Emily has returned.  This quilt is for Ava.  Aren't the colors brilliant!  I'm so excited Emily wants to continue quilting!!!  Yeahhhhhh!

41 - Candy's Happy Scrappy

Robbie started these little happy scrappy blocks way back during their Spring 2010? trip to Houston.  I was "encouraging" (bossing, scolding, pushing on Candy to get her darling little Singer Featherweight out and "Just start sewing Gees Bend Style!"  Candy finished this sweet scrappy, which has bits & pieces from lots of sewing projects, right before coming up to visit this summer.  But she ran out of time quilting it herself; so I just finished it up for her before I start back to school.  Lots of fun!!!

Ready to quilt!

40 - Baby Stella

Olivia is going to have a new baby girl cousin in October!  The shower is this weekend and baby Stella's quilt will JUST be ready in time!  The scrappy border fabric is from Grandma Kathy's stash - so baby Stella has a piece of her Grandma's heritage.

Beautiful Stella - we love you so!

Mama-to-be Amy and Grandma Carolyn came by and got to see the quilt in progress!
Cousin Livi helped with some of the quilting!

39 - Happy Scrappy for Sarah (not Darius)

Ok, it is no suprise to those who know me, I'm a nut.  And I'm nuts for Darius Rucker.  So I quickly threw together a Happy Scrappy; fantasizing that I'd take it to his concert last weekend and "fan-angle" a way to get it to him.  Then I'd have the joy of knowing that both my favorite author sleeps under a quilt I made him, as well as my favorite singer.
Alas, I chickened out.  Didn't have the boldness to take the quilt (plus it wasn't quite finished, anyway) to the concert and make a spectacle of myself.  Plus, Sarah had been telling me how much she loves my simple Happy Scrappies.
And when she and Joel surprised us and called ahead to our Hood River anniversary mini-vacation Villa-Hotel and had it all PAID IN FULL as an appreciation gift for caring for the Grandies... well let's just say I knew this Happy Scrappy belonged to her!!!!!
